Norwegian Waffles

Ingredients

  • 100g Butter (Melted)
  • 4 Eggs
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar
  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Cardamom
  • 1⅓ Cups Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 3 Drops Vanilla Extract

Method

  1. Melt the butter.
  2. Mix all the ingredients until smooth and let sit for 15 minutes or more. The batter should have the consistency of thick gravy.
  3. For the filling: Mix 60g butter, 60g caster sugar and the cinnamon in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Heat waffle iron until hot and bake each waffle until hot and crispy, but not too brown.
  5. Eat right away as is or add some fresh berries or lingonberry jam.
